Thai hero Paradorn Srichaphan will return to tennis after a two-and-a-half year break from the game to compete in the doubles at the PTT Thailand Open 2009.

Srichaphan will pair with Thailand number one Danai Udomchoke after the two were granted a wildcard to play in the doubles competition. Srichaphan has been forced to rest since March 2007 due to a right wrist injury.

The former Asian number one, Srichaphan reached world number 9 in May 2003 and has won five ATP titles throughout his career.

Paradorn’s last tournament was in Miami in March 2007, since which he has been forced to undergo surgeries and therapy to repair his damaged wrist.

The combination of Paradorn and Danai playing together for the first time in years is sure to be a big hit with the Thai fans and the pair will be joined in the doubles competition by Sonchat and Sanchai Ratiwatana who had already received a wildcard.
