Thai twins, Berdych advance to the semi-finals

World #10 Tomas Berdych is still on course to the final of the ATP Thailand Open following his victory over seventh seeded Ivo Karlovic in the men singles' quarterfinal match on Friday.

Third-seeded Berdych took one hour and 11 minutes to overcome the big serve from Croatian Karlovic 7-5, 6-4. He will play unseeded Benjamin Becker, who defeated his German compatriot Dominik Meffert 7-6(2), 7-5 for a place in the semi-final on Saturday.

In the men doubles, Thai twins Sonchat and Sanchai Ratiwatana also progressed to the semi-finals after beating Czech pair Petr Pala and David Skoch 6-3, 7-6(3). The twins will carry the Thai flag and play Ashley Fisher and Jim Thomas.

All semi-finals matches will take place on Saturday from 1 pm at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani.
