"My chances are as good as anybody’s:” Roddick

Andy Roddick has played down his chances of winning the Thailand Open 2007 by saying he will concentrate on his first match tomorrow before thinking about winning the title.

Roddick, the world# 5, has become the favourite to win the Open in Bangkok after the last minute withdrawals of the two higher ranked players, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

Asked at the press conference today whether he has become the favourite for this year Thailand Open, Roddick replied:

“I think my chances are as good as anybody’s. It’s a little bit too early to talk about winning now. I hope to win tomorrow first.”

Tomorrow Roddick’s opponent is Yeu-Tzuoo Wang of Chinese Taipei whom the current seeded 1 knows well and has played him before.

“I’ve played him at Wimbledon and known him since juniors. He is
talented from the baseline. But it’s different conditions and a different
court. It depends on how I adjust,” said Roddick

Thailand Open tickets are available at all Thaiticketmajor outlets or by calling 02 262 3456 or at www.thaiticketmajor.com, and VIP Boxes are available by calling 02 262 3900.

Roddick’s match will be the highlight of the day and will be the evening’s feature match starting at 7:00pm.
