Danai Advances!

Danai Udomchoke came from behind to win his first match at the Thailand Open 2007 against Israeli Harel Levy, while Carlos Moya became the first high-ranked casualty after losing to Benjamin Becker 6-7 (5-7), 4-6 on Tuesday.

The Thai favorite had to overcome a first set deficit before beating Levy in a thrilling two hour plus match in front of an excited home crowd at Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani.

Following the win, Danai will play Becker who posted his first win in eight matches in defeating fifth seed Moya on Thursday, for a place in the second round.

“It boosts my confidence to win over a good player such as Moya,” said Becker after the match.

Looking ahead to his match with Becker, Danai said that he hoped to do better than their last meeting in Tokyo last year.  “Last time I was outplayed by him but if I play well, I have a good chance to win,” he said.
