‘Peerakiat’ has one last hurdle to reach the main draw

The second round of qualifying singles at the Thailand Open 2007 has seen only one Thai player Peerakiat Siriluethaiwattana left to challenge for the main draw places on Tuesday.

Peerakiat defeated Gouichi Motomura, ranked #6 in qualifying rounds, 7-5, 4-1 on Sunday after the Japanese was forced to retire in the second set due to stomach injury.

Peerakiat, aged 18, is the only Thai player left in the qualifying stages, and he will play second seeded Harel Levy tomorrow for a place in the main draw led by the big names such as Andy Roddick, the world #5.

Other draws in the last qualifying singles are: Zack Fleishman (1-USA) vs David Martin (USA), Simon Stadler (3-GER) vs Nick Lindahl (AUS) and Dominik Meffert (4-GER) vs George Bastl (SUI).
