Thai twins, Becker-Tursunov in final 

Unseeded Benjamin Becker continued his dream run in the Thailand Open 2007 after upsetting third-seeded Tomas Berdych to reach the final on Sunday. 

German Becker started the tournament as a surprise package but has gradually grown into the tournament since the first round. Becker overcame world #15 Carlos Moya and then local favourite Danai Udomchoke to earn a place in the semi-finals. 

Against all odds Becker kept his composure and had to come from behind to beat the world #10 Tomas Berdych of Czech 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. He will play No.6 seed Dmitry Tursunov, who defeated Fernando Verdasco in a tight match 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-4, in the men singles, started not before 3 pm Sunday. 

In the men’s doubles tournament, Thai twins Sonchat and Sanchai Ratiwatana lifted the home crowd spirits after progressing to the final. It was the first time they made it into the finals of the Thailand Open.   The twins outplayed Ashley Fisher and Jim Thomas 6-1, 6-1 and will now face French duo Michael Llodra and Nicolas Mahut in the first match of the finals at 1 pm.

The finals will take place at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani on Sunday 30th September 2007.
