Thailand Open starts with Moya, Becker match

The Thailand Open 2007 officially kicks off tomorrow with matches from midday, an official opening at 7 pm and a feature match between world number 15 Carlos Moya and German star Benjamin Becker.

Three days of qualifiers ended today, resulting in the top four players entering the 32 man Main Draw for the Thailand Open.

Matches start at midday tomorrow. The afternoon session features a match between Feliciano Lopez of Spain and Ivo Karlovic of Croatia. But the big match kicks off after the official opening ceremony at 7 pm, when world former number one Carlos Moya plays Benjamin Becker.

Following that match, Israeli Harel Levy will play Thai favorite Danai Udomchoke, currently ranked number 122 in the world.

Today local rising star Peerakiat Siriluethaiwattana failed to defeat Levy to make it into the final draw. Levy beat Siriluethaiwattana 6-1,6-0.
